Henderson-based Citizens National Bank buys Central Texas banking group

Henderson-based Citizens National Bank has completed its acquisition of Union State Bank located in Central Texas.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. The transaction expands CNB’s footprint into Bell and Williamson counties.

Union State Bank has more than $470 million in assets and eight locations.
“This is great news and has the potential to be transformative for our company, shareholders and of course both USB and CNB customers,” Brad Tidwell, president and CEO of CNB, said in the announcement Thursday.
Coleen Beck, president and CEO of USB, said, “We’re thrilled to become part of the CNB team.”
Combining the banks takes CNB from $1.75 billion to about $2.2 billion in assets and from 28 to 36 branches, the announcement said.
Union State Bank is headquartered in Florence and has branches in Florence, Killeen, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, Harker Heights and Temple.
