Softball Roundup: Harmony, Van capture softball wins in area games

HARMONY 3, TROUP 2
HARMONY — In a pitching duel, the Harmony Lady Eagles edged the Troup Lady Tigers, 3-2, on Tuesday in a softball contest.

Analese Cano got the win in the circle, going seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs (1 earned) while striking out seven.
Tayler Vance pitched for Troup, going six innings, allowing nine hits and three runs while striking out two.
Kinzee Settles and Katelyn Welborn blasted home runs for the Lady Eagles. Welborn had two hits as did Tori Hudson and Dacy Dawson. Others with hits for Harmony were Kaylee Clemens and Cano.
Welborn had two RBIs.
Tiffany Lacy had two hits for Troup with Kori Minnix, Alyssa Hearon and Ashley Neel adding one each. Neel had an RBI.
VAN 16, MABANK 1

VAN — Baleigh Briggs, Kelsie Briggs and Racheal Thomas all blasted home runs to power the Van Lady Vandals to a 16-1 win over the Mabank Lady Panthers on Tuesday in a District 13-4A softball game.
Thomas added two doubles to go along with her homer. Skylar Savage and Alex Walton also had doubles.
Walton and Thomas each had three hits with Morgan Benge, Baleigh Briggs and Kelsie Briggs contributing two hits apiece.
Hallie Wilkerson and Riley Mitchell added singles for Van.
Thomas had three RBIs with Baleigh Briggs and Savage knocking in two each.
Walton, Benge, Kelsie Briggs, Wilkerson and Mitchell all drove in runs.
Kelsie Briggs pitched a four-hitter, allowing one run with five strikeouts.
Laura Dyer and Hannah Hanes had doubles for Mabank with Kendall Riley and Jessica LaPrad adding singles.
OVERTON 9, HAWKINS 8, 10 INNINGS
OVERTON — Haley McMillan delivered a walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Overton to a 9-8 win over Hawkins.
McMillan had a triple, a double and four RBIs.
Sarah Garret had two doubles. Jaylin Blakeney had a double, single and two RBIs, and Haiey Ragon added a double for Overton.
Blakeney picked up the win. She allowed four earned runs on 13 hits with eight strikeouts and three walks in 10 innings.
Lilly Long had a home run and three RBIs for Hawkins. Chloe Stone had a double and two singles, and Amanda Torres had a double and a single.
Hawkins led 4-1 entering the bottom of the sixth when Overton plated five runs. Hawkins regained the lead with three runs in the top of the seventh before Overton forced extra innings with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
Raeli Smith took the loss for Hawkins. She struck out 10 batters and walked 10 in nine innings.
SABINE 16, ARP 2
ARP — Madison Rice and Sarah Davis hit homers to pace the Sabine Lady Cardinals to a 16-2 win over Arp on Tuesday in a District 15-3A softball game.
Davis and Blaire Kaufman each had three hits, while Rice had two. Both Rice and Davis had three RBIs each with Kaufman knocking in a run.
Hannah Merritt pitched five inings, allowing three hits while striking out seven.
CANTON 16, BROWNSBORO 1
BROWNSBORO — Brooke Arnold had a homer run and a double, along with five RBIs as the Canton Eaglettes defeated the Brownsboro Bearettes 16-1 on Tuesday in a District 13-4A softball game.
Haylee Miles also had a homer and double for the Eaglettes. Carly Autry, Reagan Busby and Mackenzie Garcias added doubles for Canton.
Lottie Adams joined Arnold and Miles with two hits with Kylie Floyd, Mattie Tullos and Anna Hudson each adding singles.
Busby and Miles had two RBIs with Floyd, Garcias and Autry adding driving in one each.
Lauren Reid pitched four innings, allowing four hits and an unearned run while striking out five.
