Zeke Conner, Bishop Gorman

WHAT HIS COACH SAID

Zeke Conner is a dedicated and exceptional member of our high school wrestling team. I am honored to recommend Zeke for this prestigious recognition. Over the course of his high school wrestling career, Zeke has consistently exemplified outstanding sportsmanship, leadership and commitment to both the sport and our team. He has not only demonstrated exceptional skill on the mat but has also been an exemplary student-athlete, maintaining a high standard of academic excellence while actively participating in various extracurricular activities.

Zeke’s work ethic is truly commendable. He consistently goes above and beyond in training, pushing not only himself but also inspiring his teammates to strive for excellence. His determination and resilience are evident in his numerous achievements throughout the season, including placing third at Prep State to qualify for Prep Nationals at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. Zeke finished his senior season with a record of 31-9 and was ranked No. 2 in the state at his weight class for all prep schools (including Oklahoma private schools).

Beyond his individual accomplishments, Zeke has played a pivotal role in fostering a positive and cohesive team environment. His impact extends beyond the wrestling mat, positively influencing the entire school community.

Conner, a 6-7, 285-pound senior who said he is completely blind in his right eye, didn’t start playing football or wrestling until he got to Bishop Gorman as a junior in high school.
