With spring sports being canceled, the Tyler Morning Telegraph wants to profile East Texas seniors in those sports in a feature called “From the Sidelines”. If you’re an East Texas senior who competes in a spring sport and would like to be featured, fill out the following questionnaire and send it to sports@tylerpaper.com, along with a photo. Today’s featured female athlete is Van’s Brooklyn Allison.

Name: Brooklyn Allison

School: Van High School

Parents names: Caroline and Casey Allison

Brothers/sisters: Kailyn Allison

Sports you play: Basketball, cross country, track, softball and golf

Favorite high school sports memory: Working hard every day with my teammates, going in the weight room every day and grinding, missing lunch to shoot every day. Hard work is the most fun thing you can do, and the outcome is even better.

Plans after high school: To play college basketball while continuing an education

If college, what schools are you considering, and what do you plan to major in? I’m looking into JUCO, thinking about possibly majoring in kinesiology.

Favorite song: My Time by Fabolous

Favorite food: Chicken Alfredo

Favorite TV show: Friends

Favorite movie: Rocky II

Who are your role models? My dad

Which coaches have had the most influence on you? Why? Coach Warren Southers. He came into our high school this year not knowing us and had so much confidence in us. He was very Christ oriented, teaching us about God and life throughout our season! Coach Cassie Crabtree. She has always had hope in me. She is a passionate coach and most athletes don’t appreciate this because these coaches make them work hard, but not me, I love it. She is an amazing coach!

Who is your favorite teacher? Mrs. Ayers. She’s so kind and always puts in 100 percent to give to her students.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Playing basketball on a beach in Florida!

Something about yourself that most people don’t know: I don’t think people understand how much I care about sports. I have a passion for sports. I will do whatever it takes, whatever a coach asks. I love it!

What will you miss most about high school sports? Playing all the sports. In college, I might only be playing basketball, so not playing all the others is going to be heartbreaking for a little bit. But basketball is going to be so much fun in college.
