GARLAND — The Tyler Legacy Red Raiders captured a 5-2 win over Garland Naaman Forest on Friday in a Class 6A Division 2 bi-district soccer playoff game at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.

The Red Raiders (14-1-4) advances to the area round to face Mesquite Horn, a 6-1 winner over on Thursday. It was Horn’s first playoff victory since 2014.

Tyler Legacy will play Horn at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Saline.

The Rangers end their season at 9-11-1.



Scoring goals for the Red Raiders were Erick Mendez (2), Jacob Shanhouse, Mario Delgado and David Chavez.

Assists were from Chavez (2), Carson Spillman, Brian Mayorga and Braer LeBlanc.
