Baby Lyric Minter is awake and alert at a hospital in Dallas, Bullard Police Department Det. Judith Tuell said Wednesday afternoon. Lyric was injured by a gunshot Sunday night.
Lyric’s mother, Tatyanna Smith, 25, and two of her other children were found dead in a Guinn Street home in Bullard that same night.
Police are investigating the case as a homicide, but have not released information about a suspect or person of interest. Police emphasize there is not a threat to the public. They have contacted many people regarding the shooting, Bullard Chief Jeff Bragg said.
The community is coming together to support the father of 4-year-old Madilynn “May May” Evans and 2-year-old Maison “Mace Mace” Evans, who were tragically killed in the shooting. Over $15,000 has been raised of a $30,000 GoFundMe goal to help with funeral services for the children, who were found dead alongside Smith. All died from a gunshot, the Bullard Police Department said.
Services will be held Saturday for the Evans children. Those who would like to donate to help the family of the Evans children can visit https://tinyurl.com/supportevansfamily to contribute.
The active homicide investigation remains ongoing and full autopsy reports are pending.
