WHAT HER COACH SAID
When working with young people, you come to recognize those who stand out for their exceptional performance and those that earn respect due to their exemplary character through leadership and genuine concern of others. It is rare to find both attributes so fully formed in one young person, but this is what I see in Alaia Privett’s interactions with her world. I enthusiastically nominate Alaia Privett Tyler’s Best Preps student athletic training award for she is revered by her peers as a role-model worth imitating. Perhaps her greatest attribute is her selflessness and caring for others: she is attentive and responsive to their needs, but more, she is highly intelligent and knows what needs to be done. Alaia feels a sense of responsibility in attending to and working with others, is committed to our program and its core principles, and is determined to do her best in every situation. Along with her duties as a student athletic trainer, Alaia is a starter for our state-ranked varsity soccer team. Alaia regularly works as volunteer trainer for the JV games as they typically have no one assigned to work their games. And on several occasions, Alaia has wrapped the sprained ankles of teammates and opponents alike during halftimes of her varsity games.
