Chapel Hill ISD and community members paid a moving tribute to fallen Deputy Lorenzo Bustos at Friday’s night game.

Prior to Chapel Hill’s season opening home game against Gilmer, a special ceremony was made, followed by a student-led prayer and a moment of silence for the former Chapel Hill alumnus.

Smith County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Sgt. Larry Christian said the tribute was especially meaningful to the law enforcement community.
