With spring sports being canceled, the Tyler Morning Telegraph wants to profile East Texas seniors in those sports in a feature called “From the Sidelines”. Favorite memory: Getting my personal best score for a round while finishing top 10 in my last tournament.

Plans after high school: I will be attending the University of Alabama in the fall on a sports communications track.

Favorite song: Downtown by Macklemore

Favorite food: Meat lovers pizza

Favorite TV show: The Office

Favorite movie: Catch Me If You Can

My role models: My parents and David Kissell

Which coach had the biggest impact on you? Why?: Coach McElveen has had the biggest impact on me by helping me develop in a sport I had never played prior to high school, showing me how to value what is personally important to me, along with showing everyone on the team what it takes to be a strong and faithful young man.

Favorite teacher: Mr. Loeffler

Where do you see yourself 10 Years from now?: Ten years from now, I see myself working my way up in a sports organization and being involved in the community around it.

Something about yourself that most people don’t know: I used to be in choir.

What will you miss most about high school sports? What I’ll miss most about high school sports is the relationships formed with teammates and coaches, the camaraderie of being a team, and being able to build up leadership and other great characteristics. I value the relationships I’ve formed or strengthened thanks to high school sports exponentially.
