With spring sports currently suspended, the Tyler Morning Telegraph wants to profile East Texas seniors in those sports in a feature called “From the Sidelines”. Sports you play: Volleyball and softball
Favorite high school sports memory: My favorite memory in sports would be during volleyball season of this year, my teammates and I were in the locker room getting hyped up before the game until we heard a sudden bang on the door. Well little did we know that our warm up time had started and only a few girls were on the court. We rushed to the gym laughing but scared. We made it happen just in time for the game.
Plans after high school: I plan on attending TJC in the fall to study kinesiology and then transfer to a university to pursue physical therapy.
Favorite song: My favorite song is You Say by Lauren Daigle.
Favorite food: My favorite food is anything Mexican!
Favorite TV show: My favorite tv show is either All American or Grey’s Anatomy.
Favorite movie: My favorite movie is every High School Musical.
Who are your role models? My role models are Sadie Robertson as well as my parents and grandparents.
Which coaches have had the most influence on you? Why? Coach Camp, who has been my volleyball coach throughout high school, has influenced me in many different ways as well as my softball coach, Coach Grant. They both have very high expectations and know what they want out of me, they also push me to be a better person and leader around the community and, most importantly, one who leads by example of following Jesus Christ.
Who is your favorite teacher? I can’t pick just one favorite teacher, but I will list a few … Mrs. Clemmons, Mrs. C. Kirklin, Mrs. Ramsey, Mrs. Quarles and Mrs. Penny!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? In 10 years, I see myself with a stable job as well as being happily married and possibly starting my own family!
Something about yourself that most people don’t know: Most people don’t know that I enjoy being crafty. I like to paint different things and draw as well as journaling.
What will you miss most about high school sports? I will miss the relationships, the memories and the countless laughs shared with the many best friends I have created while playing sports all throughout high school.
