With spring sports currently suspended, the Tyler Morning Telegraph wants to profile East Texas seniors in those sports in a feature called “From the Sidelines”. If you’re an East Texas senior who competes in a spring sport and would like to be featured, fill out the following questionnaire and send it to sports@tylerpaper.com, along with a photo. Today’s featured female athlete is Troup’s Ashley Neel.

Favorite high school sports memory: Going to any of the college games we went to. Those were the best times.

Favorite song: “You Say” by Lauren Daigle

Favorite food: Any dish with chicken.

Favorite TV show: “Friends”

Favorite movie: Any movie with Adam Sandler

Who are your role models? My mother

Which coaches have had the most influence on you? Why? Coach Weeks and Coach Goode because no matter how much you mess up or how much you can get on their nerves, they are both still patient and try multiple methods to try and help you.

Who is your favorite teacher? Coach Weeks. She taught me two times, both being math classes.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully graduated college with a good stable job with a good husband and great home.

Something about yourself that most people don’t know: I like to sing but can barely sing in front of anyone.

What will you miss most about high school sports? The bonds I created with each teammate I had, even the ones that didn’t make it all the way and played with me each year. I still have good bonds with each and every one of them and I still call them my family.
