Valentine’s Day got off to a rainy start Tuesday, drenching drivers on their morning commutes and making for a wet morning.

“It’s an upper-level low area of low presssure moving northeast that will bring widespread showers to the Tyler area for most of the day,” said Travis Washington, metereorlogist with the National Weather Service office in Shreveport.

It also will usher in cooler temperatures, which bring highs in the low to mid 60s for most of the week. Saturday sees warmer temps, with a high of 75 expected, he said.

Tuesday’s forecast has the possiblity to see some severe storms capable of producing hail, Washington said.
