Tornado warning issued for a portion of Smith County

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for southeastern Wood County and central Smith County until 6:15 p.m.

At 5:12 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Van, 15 miles south of Mineola.

According to scanner traffic, about 5:20 p.m. a caller reported seeing a funnel cloud at the Henderson and Smith County lines headed northeast.
