Hawkins falls to Detroit, 22-0

HAWKINS — The Hawkins Hawks opened their season on the wrong foot, falling to the Detroit Eagles 22-0 in a non-district game Friday.

Hawkins, which finished 6-4 last season, was unable to corral Detroit running back Craig Dickerson. Dickerson had more than 150 yards of offense, including a touchdown run of three yards and a halfback pass for a touchdown to Aaron Smith.
Detroit’s final score came on a quarterback sneak by Trevor Reger.
The Hawks will try to even their record Friday against Union Hill.
