Will Brown follow Dodds and step down?

So DeLoss Dodds is stepping down as the University of Texas’ athletic director. So his bidding adieu ends a 32-year reign atop college athletics’ richest program, though he plans to consult until 2015.
So Dodds will leave behind one of the most recognized legacies in college sports. And so under his guidance, UT developed the nation’s biggest sports budget, spent more than $400 million on facility upgrades and won numerous national titles.

As like so, the story goes on.
But the biggest matter stemming from Dodds’ decision is no doubt Mack Brown, who many UT loyalists would like to see go, too. And with university president Bill Powers hoping to name a Dodds replacement Dec. 1, the ground could get a little shaky in Austin during the next couple months.
Earlier this week, even the Tyler Rose himself called out for Brown to either step down or be replaced.
What do you think will happen to Mack? Will Dodds pull the plug on his longtime friend or leave that to his replacement or Brown?
Or looking further ahead, how does a new AD affect the job security of UT coaches Rick Barnes and Augie Garrido?

Meanwhile, is it just me or has college football been severely bland this season?
When it comes to Saturdays, less is never more. Because other than Alabama-Texas A&M and LSU-Georgia, it seems like the season has failed to produce all that spice we’ve grown accustomed to.
Even ESPN’s flagship show College GameDay has set sail for more flavor, having sent its crew to Fargo a couple weeks ago for FCS back-to-back national champion North Dakota State’s matchup with Delaware State. When GameDay visits an FCS campus for the first time in five years, it no doubt means the FBS schedule isn’t delivering.
This week doesn’t look all that enticing, either, evidenced by GameDay heading Evanston, Ill. for No. 16 Northwestern and fourth-ranked Ohio State.
Pass the salt, please.
The only other games featuring ranked two ranked teams involve No. 25 Maryland at eighth-ranked Florida State and No. 15 Washington at fifth-rated Stanford.
Or, better yet: Make that, check, please.
But at least we have Texas’ Thursday night game at Iowa State, which will give haters and onlookers, alike, more opportunities to get active in the Mack Brown saga. Then, of course, there will be playoff baseball this weekend, which folks in Tampa and Cleveland probably care more about right now.
That being said, Saturday’s only game is the Tigers at A’s. Some ailing Rangers fans might end up sticking with the steamed veggies that is Ohio State at Northwestern.
