Christopher L. Foreman, MSL, MBA Invited to Attend Award-Winning PhD Project ConferenceProgram, celebrating its 25th anniversary, supports diversity in corporate America

November, 2019—The PhD Project, an award-winning program to create diversity in management founded by the KPMG Foundation, the lead funder of the program, announces that Christopher L. Foreman, a native of Tyler, Texas, and graduate of John Tyler HS, Tyler Junior College, Texas College, and LeTourneau University has been invited to attend the 25th annual PhD Project Conference, being held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare from November 21-23, 2019. Christopher is presently the Founder and CEO of Love Ink Printing & Engagements, which was established on February 28th of 2017.  He currently resides in The Woodlands Texas with his wonderful wife Anita Foreman, and two children Destini (19), and Christopher II (15).

Christopher attributes his success to his personal relation with God, his parents Leon & Celestine Foreman of Tyler, Texas, and to his best friend and wife Anita Foreman of Tyler, Texas.  In May of 2019, he received the Zero Hero Award from the Houston Division of the Kroger Co. for exemplifying the company initiative of Zero Hunger/ Zero Waste by CEO Rodney McMullen.  He was able to raise over $34K for the local foodbank, over $11K for school supplies for local school children and helped to save over 600 lives by hosting blood drives for the local community of Spring Texas.  Christopher says, “Mark 10:45 is the basis for service and realizes that if you want to be great, you simply have to serve.”

The PhD Project, which was founded by the KPMG Foundation in 1994 and became a separate 501(c)(3) in 2005, recruits minority professionals from business into doctoral programs in all business disciplines. Since its inception, The PhD Project has been responsible for the increase in the number of minorities earning a business Ph.D. from 294 to 1,550, of whom 1,327 are teaching in U.S. colleges and universities. Further, 277 minorities are currently enrolled in doctoral programs, and will take a place at the front of the classroom over the next few years. The Project attacks the root cause of minority under-representation in corporate jobs: historically, very few minority college students study business as an entrée to a corporate career.  Diversifying the faculty attracts more minorities to study business and better prepares all students to function in a diverse workforce.

Qualified candidates are invited to this annual conference where they hear from deans, professors and current minority doctoral students about the benefits of pursuing a business Ph.D.  Candidates are exposed to more than 100 doctoral-granting universities that are represented during a university exhibit fair at the conference. Networking with the university reps, deans, professors and current doctoral students provides candidates with the tools and resources they need to be better prepared for the application/admission process to doctoral programs.
