Tyler police investigate homicide

Police responded to a fatal shooting that occurred on S SW Loop 323 near Junior’s Taqueria.

Tyler police are investigating a homicide. 

Friday around 12:15 p.m., officers were called to shooting at a business in the 3800 block of the SSW Loop 323.

Witnesses stated that Scottie Lee Goble, a 54-year-old male from Frost, and Heriberto Ramirez, a 38-year-old from Tyler, were allegedly involved a physical altercation when Goble shot Ramirez, police said.

Heriberto was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. His family has been notified.

Scottie was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail for first-degree murder on a $500,000 bond.
