Whitehouse sweeps Corsicana, Lindale

WHITEHOUSE — Fresh off of the Mansfield ISD Methodist Medical Center Volleyball Invitational, Whitehouse swept matches with Corsicana and Lindale on Tuesday night inside C.L. Nix Wildcat Arena.
“This weekend was really good for us, it really pushed us,” Whitehouse head volleyball coach Britney Nordin said. “They just wanted to carry what they learned this weekend into the next game, so it was nice to see them executing.”

Whitehouse opened the night with a sweep of Corsicana (25-7, 25-21, 25-6).
Lindale then swept Corsicana to set up a matchup of the two winning teams.
After falling behind 1-0 with a kill by Lindale’s Addison Ridge, the Ladycats jumped out to an 11-2 lead. Lindale put the score at 18-9 before Gabie Patterson served Whitehouse to a 7-0 run to close the opening set.
Lindale led 4-2 early in the second set before a 5-0 Whitehouse run, highlighted by two Megan Cooley kills. Lindale then tied the score at 7-7 before an 8-0 Whitehouse run, capped by a Kylan Wedell kill. Whitehouse went on to win the set 25-18.
In the third set, Lindale led 2-1 early before a 12-1 Whitehouse spurt made the score 13-3. Lindale battled back and cut the score to 24-19 with a late 6-1 run before Whitehouse won the match.
Against Corsicana, Cooley had eight kills. Kassidy Meyer, Wedell and Madyson Nunez had five kills, and Addison Fowler and Raylee Rios added four kills. Ashley Rhame had 14 assists and four aces, and Cooley added four aces.

Against Lindale, Cooley, Fowler and Meyer all had six kills. Rhame had 12 assists.
Whitehouse (6-5) will host White Oak on Aug. 23.
