Brownsboro junior Khayla Garrett has earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Volleyball Player of the Week honors for matches played Oct. 17-22.
Garrett had 25 kills, four blocks and 42 digs for the Bearettes.

In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):
Brownsboro sophomore Tiykeah Mckenzie had 26 kills, three blocks and nine digs.
Canton middle blocker Emma Welty had 26 kills, five blocks and three digs with a .471 hitting percentage in wins over Cumberland Academy and Brownsboro. Setter Georgia Crayton had 73 assists, three aces, two blocks and 17 digs for Canton (29-7, 11-0).
Whitehouse libero Gabie Patterson had 34 digs and four aces in wins over Longview and Mount Pleasant.
Beckville’s Sophie Elliott had 71 assists, 20 digs, four kills and five aces in wins over Hawkins and Carlisle. Avery Morris had 30 kills, 26 digs, three aces and three blocks. Amber Harris had 26 kills, three blocks, 33 digs and four aces.

In Class 5A, Hallsville (33-6) is No. 15. In Class 4A, Canton (29-7) is No. 8, Spring Hill (29-7) No. 10 and Bullard (32-8) No. 11. In Class 3A, White Oak (36-7) is No. 8, Tatum (37-6) No. 9, Mount Vernon (25-3) No. 14, Central Heights (34-8) No. 15, Edgewood (29-8) and Atlanta (21-6) No. 21. In Class 2A, Beckville (30-10) is No. 6, San Augustine (14-2) No. 11. In Class 1A, Neches (27-8) is No. 6.
