PHOTOS: 89th Texas Rose Festival opening ceremony

The Texas Rose Festival kicked off at the opening ceremony at the Rose Garden Center Thursday. 

The 89th Texas Rose Festival officially began Thursday morning ahead of scheduled activities Friday through Sunday.

Members of the Rose Festival court, families and community members gathered in the Rose Garden Center for a ribbon cutting and prayer service.
