Tyler Legacy advances to District 10-6A championship

Tyler Legacy will play for a District 10-6A tennis championship on Friday.
Legacy took a 10-0 win over Mesquite on Tuesday in the 10-6A semifinals to earn their spot in the championship match. The Red Raiders will play Rockwall-Heath — a 10-9 winner over Rockwall — at 4 p.m. Friday at Tyler Legacy High School’s tennis courts.

Daniel Gaston had a 6-0, 6-0 win over Issac Rodriguez in boys singles. Dylan Brown took a 6-1, 6-0 win over Marco Garcia in boys singles.
Audrey Deatherage defeated Alyssa Esparza 6-1, 6-0 in girls singles. In girls doubles, Deatherage teamed up with Sophie Miller for a win of 6-3, 6-0. Sara Fry and Bridget Gaston won 6-0, 6-1, and Emma Faulks and Savannah Allen won 6-2, 6-1.
In boys doubles, Brown and Gaston won 6-0, 6-2. Nathan Kiblinger and Michael Collins won 6-1, 6-1, and Preston Rathbun and Michael Rowan won 6-2, 6-3.
In mixed doubles, Gab Oxler and Sapphire Nunn teamed up for a 6-1, 6-2 win.
