“It has been my dream since I was a young girl and I saw an ad on Facebook. I called my closest loved ones and ask if they wanted to participate and they were ready,” she said. “We did an audition video, submitted it and the rest is history.”
Wood was accompanied by her uncle Louis Sherfield Jr., mother Rosie Sherfield, brother Darwin Johnson, and husband Reggie Wood.
Wood said it was an honor being on the show, which filmed in Atlanta, Georgia in February.
“We were honored to be selected out of tens of thousands of families,” she said. “It was a very surreal experience and we were beyond excited.”
Wood explained the family did a lot of preparing to compete on the show including playing mock rounds of Family Feud home version.
“Some of the things we did to prepare were regularly watching the TV show, weekly meetings, played mock rounds of Family Feud home version, and we had Family Feud T-shirts made,” she said. “But the most important preparation strategy was we all believed in one divine purpose and one divine cause.”

Wood went on to share what the family members would do if they won the money.
“I would pay some bills, take my family on a long vacation, and invest in some rental properties,” she said. “Louis is paying his bills living a debt free life. Rosie is interested in investing every dime so she can retire — any recommendations welcome.”
“Darwin would live his best life spending until it’s gone,” Wood said. “Reggie wants to spend every dime on Dallas Cowboys material — maybe a new coach and a quarterback if he’s feeling froggy.”
Wood said the family was honored to represent the Tyler area and that all things are possible if you are willing to dream big.
“It was our pleasure to represent the Rose Capital of the world. We are the evidence that anything you dream can become a reality,” she said. “We had the most wonderful experience. It was an experience of a lifetime. Anyone that has five reliable family members that are fun should pursue the opportunity.”
The Family Feud Season 25 Sherfield Family episode will air on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
