West Rusk student welders compete in Dallas

Four West Rusk senior welders competed at the Tulsa Welding School Senior High School Competition in Dallas this past Saturday. Students showcased their skills against talented welders from Duncanville, Dumas, Elgin, North DeSoto, Longview and other metroplex-area high schools. Only 30 spots were awarded, making this competition highly competitive.

West Rusk’s Christian Manes, Cam Robinson, Thomas Scarborough and Aedyn Thurston represented the CTE AG Engineering program exceptionally well!



Robinson placed 20th, and Manes was in eighth place.Both students were awarded welding jackets, sleeves, safety glasses, caps, gear bags and brand-new welding hoods.

All four participants earned $500 scholarships for their outstanding performances.
