Panola College and UT Tyler are joining forces to give students seamless transfer opportunities.

The colleges signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday. This agreement allows students to co-enroll, earning credit from both schools while taking Panola College classes.

For several years, the partnership between these schools has grown. Agreements for transfer have been signed in the past. However, this memorandum significantly creates an accessible route for students seeking their bachelor’s degree.

Kilgore College signed a similar agreement with UT Tyler in March. Many Kilgore students are now on their way to earn two degrees in just four years, officials noted.

Panola College President Jessica Pace emphasizes the implications of this opportunity for students, “This agreement is going to allow our students to enroll simultaneously at Panola College and UT Tyler, enabling them to work towards their bachelor’s degree while they’re completing their associate’s degree here at Panola. Not only does this ease their transition from Panola to UT Tyler, but it provides them a smoother and more accessible pathway to a four-year degree.”
