Around 9 a.m. Friday, Tyler Police Department officers were called out to a home in the 900 block of W. First Street on a report of shots fired.
Officers arrived quickly and were able to get several children and adults out of the house, according to Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh.
One of the adults who was in the home was Chandler Haught, 22, of Tyler, who police said is the suspect in this case.
“It was determined that Haught and the people inside the house are acquaintances, this is not a random incident,” the police department said. “There was evidence of shots being fired.”
There were no injuries.
The handgun was located, police said.
