Peter Wright

TYLER — Memorial services for Peter Wright, 81, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tony McCoy officiating. Visitation will follow service in the Hospitality Room at the funeral home.

Mr. Wright passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 in Tyler. He was born July 6, 1942 in Morecambe, England to Henry Wright and Edith Hornsey Wright.

Peter grew up in Morecambe, England where he met his wife, Elizabeth. They were married in December 1964 and had two children, Jennifer and Paul. Peter graduated from Manchester University in 1965 with a degree in Metallurgy. He and his wife Elizabeth and family moved to Dallas in 1974 where he became VP of Marketing and Sales for Chaparral Steel until 2010. He was also a member of numerous professional organizations. His passions included reading, traveling the world with his wife and spending time at his home in Colorado.

Peter is preceded in death by his mother, Edith, and father, Henry, and grandson, Braden Alec Carson. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Paul; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Billy Dan Carson; grandson, Ancel Carson and wife, Michelle; and granddaughter, Hope Carson.
