PHOTOS: Boo at the Caldwell Zoo offers fun activities, treats while viewing exhibits

Hundreds of families walked through the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler this weekend, stopping for treats along the way while dressed in their best Halloween costumes.
The zoo held its annual Boo at the Zoo on Saturday and Sunday to celebrate Halloween. According to the zoo, this is the biggest and best Halloween event in the Tyler area because of its numerous activities and unique experiences that showcase the spirit of the season.

Princesses, superheroes, monsters and characters of all kinds were among the personas kids of all ages took on for the day. Kids went from one exhibit to the next, marveling at the zoo animals that could be seen eating carved pumpkins. Also along the way, children stopped at various tables as local organizations offered activities and treats.
The zoo also had special decorations to celebrate the holiday, such as orange and black plastic flamingos lining the walkways, large inflatable spiders and goblins, and spiderwebs all throughout the zoo.
Although there were times of rain Saturday, more sunshine is forecast Sunday with no rain in the forecast. The high will be 70 degrees.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The zoo highly encourages visitors to purchase tickets in advance online at www.caldwellzoo.org.
