The varsity girls will run at 9 a.m. The varsity boys will run at 9:30 a.m. The JV girls will run at 10 a.m. The JV boys will run at 10:30 a.m.

Participating teams are Tyler Legacy, Rockwall, Rockwall-Heath, Mesquite Horn, Mesquite, Royse City and North Forney.

“It’s going to be a quick race,” Tyler Legacy cross country coach Dennis Teuber said. “We have fast runners in the district. I’ve talked with the kids about what to expect per mile and their pacing. Overall, they did a good job last week at our meet with a lot of PRs. I would like to see them do just like they did last week, maybe slightly better in some cases. They’ve worked hard all summer, getting up early to run every morning. This is a close group, and they really want this for one another. We’ve talked about this for weeks and set our goals. They’re excited it’s finally here.”

Runners for Legacy boys are Brady Filla, Michael Peveto, Mason Maldonado, Jonathan Rodriguez, Miller East, Warren Feldman, Nick Valle, Alejandro Angeles and Cayden Boerger. Runners for Legacy girls are Trude Lamb, Mila Teuber, Celeste Dominguez, Joselyn Bryner, Lily Janis, Lilly Boulden, Yuliana Mancilla and Molly Bryans.

The top three teams and top 10 individuals will advance to compete in the Class 6A Region II meet either Oct. 24 or 25 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.
