Tyler Legacy wins 10-6A title, opens playoffs Tuesday

- Tyler Legacy won the District 10-6A team tennis championship.
Tyler Legacy secured the District 10-6A team tennis championship with a 10-2 win over Rockwall-Heath on Friday.
Michael Collins picked up a win in boys singles, 6-0, 4-6, 10-8 over Hudson Lambeth. Legacy went 3-1 in girls singles. Audrey Deatherage took down Gabrielle Geary 6-0, 6-2. Bridget Gaston fell to Naomi Osibajo 3-6, 0-6. Sara Fry topped Lillian Chester 6-2, 6-4. Sophie Miller upended Mia Graybill 6-1, 6-0.

Rockwall-Heath did earn a win in mixed doubles as Chester and Dylan Almy teamed up to defeat Legacy’s Gab Oxler and Sapphire Nunn 6-1, 6-2.
Everything else was all Red Raiders.
In boys doubles, it was 3-0 Legacy. Dylan Brown and Daniel Gaston defeated Rishel/Buffington 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Nathan Kiblinger and Collins defeated Stanford/Lambeth 6-3, 6-1. Preston Rathbun and Michael Rowan topped Hernandez/Seifer 6-1, 6-2.
Girls doubles was also 3-0 in favor of legacy. Deatherage and Miller defeated Kinsey/Osibajo 6-4, 2-6, 10-2. Fry and Gaston defeated Geary/Rodriguez 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Emma Faulks and Savannah Allen defeated Berg/McCormick 6-3, 5-7, 10-6.
Legacy will open the playoffs against North Garland at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Sulphur Springs.
