Tyler Legacy will host its annual cross country invitational for the 35th time beginning at 7:15 a.m. Saturday at UT Tyler.
“We’re very excited,” Legacy cross country coach Dennis Teuber said. “To be able to host something here in East Texas and be a part of the legacy that Coach (Dennis) Baker and other coaches have put together. We are thankful for UT Tyler for letting us run there. It’s beautiful and a true cross country course. And it’s nice for the kids to not have to travel at 3 a.m. and get to have their classmates and families be able to cheer them on.”

This will be the final race before the District 10-6A meet on Oct. 13, which will also be in Tyler.
“I want them to go out there and have fun,” Teuber said. “The key thing is for them to enjoy what they’re doing. I want them to race hard, be smart and just mentally prepare. This is our district course, so this is a chance to prepare for what’s ahead in a week and a half.”
