With NCAA sports canceled, the Tyler Morning Telegraph is profiling UT Tyler athletes for “In the Spotlight.” Today’s featured athletes are Da’Marion Greenwood and MyKaela Alfred.
Greenwood runs sprints and hurdles and also high jumps.

After running a personal record of 8.73 in the 60-meter hurdles at UAB’s Green & Gold Meet on Jan. 25 in Birmingham, Alabama, and at the Howie Ryan Invitational on Feb. 14 at the University of Houston, Greenwood ran an 8.53 at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 21 on the campus of Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock.
He also high jumped 1.9 meters (6 feet, 2 inches) and helped the 4×400 meter relay team run to a time of 3 minutes and 21.14 seconds to set a school record and place sixth. He ran the third leg. Teammates were Grayson Lawrence, Josh Garcia and Christian Leffingwell.
Alfred runs sprints and hurdles. She ran to the second-best time in school history with a time of 9.28 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles on Feb. 1 in the Pittsburg State Invitational in Pittsburg, Kansas. A little less than three weeks later, she improved to 9.18 in the 60-hurdles at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 21 on the campus of Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock. The next day, Alfred ran a 9.13 to place sixth overall.

What will you miss most about UT Tyler? I will miss all of my friends and teammates, but most of all I will miss competing in the greatest sport ever!
