Around East Texas: Toy drive, annual candle lighting ceremony scheduled

The Original East Texas Baptist Association Prison Fellowship/Angel Tree Ministry will host a toy drive from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 7 at D.C. Heritage Building, 900 Bellwood, Tyler.

Donations of new unwrapped toys are requested.

Compassionate Friends candle-lighting

The Compassionate Friends of Tyler’s annual candle lighting ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at Crossroads Community Church, 13730 Highway 155 South, Tyler.

Food and fellowship will follow the ceremony. Food will be collected for the food pantry at the host church and toys for a toy drive.
