Congregation Beth El to host fourth annual open house

Congregation Beth El, 1010 Charleston Drive (off of Kinsey Drive), is hosting its fourth annual Open House at 7 p.m. Friday.
Over the past 15 years in Tyler, many churches have made confirmation class and adult study class visits. But this time the community is invited to join in the same kind of program.

At 7 p.m. Shabbat worship services will be held, lasting about an hour. Services are in English and Hebrew, but it is easy to follow along, according to a news release from the congregation.
Attire is nice/casual, but no jeans, according to the news release.
Light refreshments will be served after the service, followed by an educational program in the sanctuary. Rabbi Neal Katz will talk about the temple and the local Jewish community. He will bring the Torah from the ark and talk about basic Judaism.
After that will be a question-and-answer period.
