Butler College Group to Have Fall Banquet Saturday

The Butler College Community Service Organization will host its 23rd fall banquet at North Tenneha Family Life Center, 1702 N. Tenneha Ave., at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. Several scholarships will be awarded.

The speaker will be Pastor Gregory Littlefield of Family of Faith Christian Church.

Baha’is to Celebrate 200th Anniversary in Tyler Saturday

The Baha’is of East Texas and the Baha’i Club of TJC will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Bab, Herald of the Baha’i Faith, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Apache Room of the Rogers Student Center at Tyler Junior College.

The program will feature speakers from several religions as well as a choir.

St Vincent DePaul Christmas Sale Set for Next Week

The annual Christmas Sale sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent DePaul is scheduled for Nov. 8 through Nov. 9 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on South Broadway Avenue at Front Street. Hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 7 a.m. until everything is sold on Nov. 9.

The sale will include trees, lights, ornaments, home decorations and gift items, organizers said. There will be clothes for the whole family, even those ugly Christmas sweaters, the organizers said. There also will be a selection of antique items.

Proceeds from the sale go toward funding the Society’s Food and Clothing Pantry, where more than 450 families are served each month.

Original ET Baptist Association to Have Holiday Musical Nov. 16

A holiday musical presented by the Original East Texas Baptist Association is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the D.C. Heritage Building, 900 Bellwood Road, Tyler.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for the gospel music concert that will feature all-male chorus groups.

The program is in coordination with the Prison Fellowship/Angel Tree Ministry.
