Allen Doyle Herndon

Allen Doyle Herndon, 85 of Whitehouse, Texas formerly of Milam, TX, and Odessa, TX passed away at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, TX Tuesday, December 4, 2018. He was born in Bronson, TX March 22, 1933 to Marvin and Sadie Conner Herndon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, love of his life and fishing partner for 57 years, Cora Sue Currie Herndon, son, Richard Allen Herndon, son-in-law Sam Smith, brothers, Marvin Herndon, Jr, and Gerald Timothy Herndon and sister, Sue Morgan. He is survived by his beloved daughter Karen Herndon Smith with whom he lived the last years of his life, granddaughters, Brandi Garman, Stephani Bradford and Ski Daugherty, grandsons, Shawn, Heath and Shae Herndon and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Herndon served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a retiree of Lufkin Industries spending much of his career in Odessa, TX. As per his wishes, no services are planned however, if desired, memorials may be sent to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd – Tyler, TX 75701 or to a charity of your choice.
