Lindale’s Texas Music City Grill to host ‘Real Country’ watch party

Texas Music City Grill and Smokehouse, located in The Cannery Lindale, will host a party at 8 p.m. Tuesday to watch “Real Country,” a country music singing competition that will debut on USA Network, the venue announced.
Forty-two Texas singers auditioned this summer at Texas Music City Grill, formerly Love & War in Texas, to appear on the show. Of those, seven, including Billie Joe Sewell of Lindale, were selected as contestants, the announcement said.
The show airs beginning at 9 p.m. Shania Twain, Jake Owen and Travis Tritt are the judges.
Lindale Mayor Jeff Daugherty said having Lindale serve as an audition site helps draw attention to the city as a center for live music.
“We’re moving in the right direction in our vision for Lindale,” Daugherty said in a prepared statement. “Recently becoming Texas Music Office’s new Music Friendly Community and now being chosen as a Texas location for USA Network’s television show ‘Real Country’ is truly an honor for our great city.”
