Meals on Wheels Ministry to hold 45th Anniversary Banquet

Meals on Wheels Ministry announced that Amanda Jones, co-owner of Tyler Tents and Events, will be chairwoman of its 45th Anniversary Banquet.

The event will take place Oct. 2 in the CrossWalk Conference Center at Green Acres Baptist Church, 1607 Troup Highway.

This year’s event will have a “farmer’s market” theme.

“It epitomizes the Meals on Wheels idea,” Jones said in a news release. “A farmers market is people taking fresh produce and goods, in a truck, aka wheels, to people or a local area for people to partake in.

“What a better way than to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Meals on Wheels Ministry (than) with a theme that is literally a meal on wheels?”

The anniversary banquet is the primary fundraiser for Meals on Wheels Ministry, and organizers said all proceeds go directly to providing services to people in need.
