East Texas under severe thunderstorm warning, tornado watch

East Texas remains under a severe thunderstorm warning. The area also is under a tornado watch until 2 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Heavy rain and winds in excess of 60 mph and large hail is possible. According to information provided by the National Weather Service, an isolated tornado or two is possible with the best chances of one developing in areas south of the Interstate 20 corridor in northeast Texas.

The weather service indicated showes and thunderstorms would be numerous across northeast Texas and northern Louisiana later into the morning and afternoon. 

Storms are expected to move east of the region by mid-day Monday, according to the NWS.
