Rain expected to continue into Friday night

The showers and thunderstorms Tyler has experienced throughout this week are expected to continue into Friday night, according to the National Weather Service out of Shreveport, Louisiana.

South winds are expected to reach 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The forecast also states that the chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

National Weather Service Shreveport Senior Meteorologist Selecia Bowser said Tyler had received 21.22 inches of rain this year, as of about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. As of about 9 p.m., Tyler had officially received a little over a half an inch of rain on Thursday. She estimated the rain would likely continue until around 9 p.m. Friday.
