While the threat of severe storms was expected to have passed by early Wednesday, wet weather could be around for a while longer.
The powerful stormfront, which stretched from San Antonio all the way to Omaha, Nebraska, was expected to bring as much as 2 inches of rain to some areas through Wednesday.

“Tyler and Longview will see wet streets during the morning commute, but the worst of the storms will have passed by then,” said KYTX CBS19 Chief Meteorologist John Adams. “It should move on out and give us a day, Thursday, with nice weather before more comes Thursday night and Friday.”
Most of East Texas is expected to see 4 to 6 inches of rain through the weekend.
With the ground saturated from back-to-back storms over the past month, risk of flooding and downed trees will increase.
Sunday weather looks to be clear, but the storms are expected to return Monday.
Already Tyler has seen 4.18 inches of rain for the month, with 1.41 inches falling on April 18. Tyler has received 16.42 inches of rain since Jan. 1, down about 6 inches from 2015. However, this year’s rainfall is well above the normal value for year to date.
