National Weather Service confirms tornado touched down in Malakoff

The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office confirmed a tornado touched down in Malakoff on Tuesday night.

The tornado ranked as a 0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, which is used to categorize the strength of tornados based on the damage they cause.

An EF-0 tornado typically moves at 40 to 72 miles per hour. The NWS team remained in the area surveying damage Thursday evening.
