Severe weather expected tonight

The light rain East Texans saw this morning is expected to become more severe going into the evening.
KYTX Chief Meteorologist Adams predicted Tyler will see about an inch of rain altogether Thursday. While the rain will continue through Saturday, he said the risk of severe weather would not.

Residents should expect heavy rain and lightning during the late afternoon and evening with the most severe weather passing south of Smith county. Northeast Texas is also receiving a bout of severe weather, with tornado watches issued for many counties near the Oklahoma border.
This most recent storm marks the third weekend in a row of torrential downpour in East Texas.
The NWS reported 9.57 inches of rainfall in Tyler for the month of October, which is 4.72 inches more than what they consider normal for this time of year. More than half, 5.71 inches, dropped during a single 24-hour period from Oct. 23 to 24.
