Baseball/Softball Roundup, March 1: Whitehouse wins 2 games

FORNEY — Peyton Conser allowed his only hit with two outs in the final inning, and Whitehouse erupted for eight runs in the top of the fourth to beat Garland Lakeview Centennial 13-0 on Friday in the Forney baseball tournament.

Jared Raabe, Aaron Clemons, Ryan Cheatham and Coleman Patterson all had two hits for Whitehouse. Jake Parker had a double and three RBIs in the win.

Conser struck out two and walked none in the four-inning game.

FORNEY — Jake Parker entered in relief of Whitehouse starter Derek Clemons and proceeded to blank Forney in a 10-5 Wildcats win on Friday.

Parker issued five walks to go with no hits and eight strikeouts while Patrick Mahomes doubled and scored three runs for Whitehouse.

Mineola 8, Troup 4

GLADEWATER — Mineola rallied for six runs in the seventh inning as the Yellowjackets scored an 8-4 win over the Troup Tigers on Friday in the Gladewater Baseball Classic.

Garrett Woods and Seth Bickerstaff each had a double and a single for Mineola. Ryan Browning also had two hits for the ‘Jackets.

Seth Gibson and Mason Mallard had two hits apiece for the Tigers.

ARP — Blake White went 3 for 5 with two runs and an RBI to lead Grace Community to a 7-3 win over Cushing on Friday in the Arp Tournament.

Robert E. Lee softball wins

COOPER — Robert E. Lee cruised to victories over Ore City and Celeste Friday at the Cooper Tournament.

Lee beat Celeste 11-0, with Betty Allen hitting a home run and Raven Hill and Makenna Aycock doubling.

Aycock also went the distance on the mound in both games, allowing one hit to Celeste before mastering Ore City in a 16-1 win.

The Lady Radiders (7-4) were beaten 9-0 on Thursday by Sam Rayburn.
