Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview will have a meeting today for women interested in a ministry opportunity.

Mobberly’s Women in Need (WIN) Ministry offers several volunteer areas with an emphasis on ministering to women and girls in prison, victims of sex trafficking or those involved in prostitution, those recovering from abortion, abuse or rape and those experiencing a crisis pregnancy.

“Whether hurting women sit in a church or sit in prison, they all need healing,” Patricia Binkley-Childress, who will help direct the ministry, said, according to a news release. “Hurting little girls grow up to be hurting big girls and the pain they experience doesn’t just disappear. It manifests as anger, depression, addiction, eating disorders, self-destructive behaviors and promiscuity. Only the love of Jesus can heal their broken hearts.”

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Room D111 at The Bridge, a building on Mobberly’s main campus at 625 E. Loop 281 in Longview.
