May 18: Lindale’s Miranda Lambert wins Country Music Association’s Album of the Year in 2008

Miranda Lambert’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” won Album of the Year at the County Music Association Awards on this date in 2008. 

Lambert, a native of Lindale, was a nominee for Top Female Vocalist and her “Famous in a Small Town” was up for Single of the Year.

Atlanta native Tracy Lawrence, along with Tim Mcgraw and Kenny Chesney, won Vocal Event of the Year for their collaboration “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.” Troup native Paul Leim was a nominee for Percussionist of the Year.
