Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes, both Whitehouse natives, have announced they are expecting their third child.

The couple posted the news to their Instagram accounts on Friday, with the caption “Round three, here we come.” In a video, Patrick and Brittany are seen with their two children, Sterling Skye, 3, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III, 1, along with an ultrasound photo of their third child.

The post shows a video of the family having family portraits and pregnancy announcement photos taken by a professional photographer, with “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars playing over the video.

In February 2021, the couple welcomed Sterling into the world followed by “Bronze” who was born in November 2023. The couple have been dating since their high school days when they both attended Whitehouse High School in East Texas.

The announcement comes one day after Patrick, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, earned the Best Male Athlete award at the 2024 ESPYs. Earlier this year, Patrick was named one of TIME’s Most Influential People of 2024 and featured on the magazine’s cover.

Mahomes, 28, was born in Tyler and went to elementary school in the Rose City before moving to Whitehouse, where he was a standout sports player. He graduated from Whitehouse High School and went on to play in college football at Texas Tech then in the NFL for the Chiefs, where he has earned three Super Bowl championships and MVP honors.

Matthews also went to high school in Whitehouse. She later was a soccer standout at The University of Texas at Tyler and then signed a professional contract with a soccer team in Iceland.
