June 9: SFA alum Cindy Chiu stars in ‘The Foundling’ in 2010

Actress Cindy Chiu attended Stephen F. Austin State University 

On this date in 2010, the “The Foundling,” a science fiction movie set in the Old West, was released starring Cindy Chiu.

 Chiu, who was a cheerleader while attending Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, played a Chinese woman who rescues her sister from a brothel. During their trek back home, they encounter what could be the remains of a spaceship with a baby inside.  

She has had guest roles on the TV series, “The Mentalist,” “The Shield” and “Heroes.”
