If you are planning to buy a new gun in the next few days, don’t be in a hurry.

The Feds upgraded the software they use for background checks today, and like most software upgrades it did not go as planned.

One gun dealer said today the checks that went through took more than an hour and a half. In some cases the background check didn’t complete before the connection with the Feds broke down.

Under the old, outdated system a background check might take a few minutes if there were no issues.

Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully it will be smoother. Sure it will.
