U.S. Army Corps of Engineers must really be dumping water from Lake Ray Roberts in front of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic’s start Friday.

On Monday the lake was up more than two feet and it was raining. On Tuesday it was up 1.76 feet and it was raining. Today the lake is up 1.5 feet and it is still raining.

Earlier in the week there was some concern that if the lake came up the 36 pros in the field for the event running Friday-Sunday may not be able to launch at ramps within the state parks. Some park facilities were already closed earlier in the week.

The good news is that the sun is expected out during the duration of the tournament. The bad news is a lot of new vegetation is flooded and fishermen have had trouble locating fish during practice because the fish are scattered.

While the tournament will be on Ray Roberts north of Denton weigh-in, an outdoor expo and concerts will be at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.
