BEDFORD — Three Tyler athletes played prominent roles at the DFW Tom Hillary All-Star Game in leading the White (Dallas) Team to a 37-34 victory over the Blue (Fort Worth) Team on Saturday at Pennington Field.

Grace Community’s Lin Gillham snapped to holder Blake White, also a Cougar, who held the ball for kicker Elliott Fry to boot a 50-yard field goal on an untimed final play to give the White Team victory.

Fry, a Carrollton Prince of Peace senior committed to South Carolina, had missed a 63-yard attempt with 0:03 on the clock but received another chance because of a roughing the kicker penalty.

Bishop Gorman’s Matthew Roe played right tackle for the White Team and was on the field for a majority of the game.

Gillham, a receiver, finished with five catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.

White split time with three other quarterbacks. He completed five passes and racked up 25 yards on the ground.
